NUFENEN

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2024

In the Conches valley, this ascent takes you to the highest pass in Switzerland, at 2478m, with its breathtaking views.

As soon as you leave the village of Ulrichen, you won't have long to wait before encountering the first difficulties of the day. However, once you've passed the first series of hairpin bends, you'll be able to catch your breath at a well-deserved flat spot. It's also at this point that you'll catch your first glimpse of the summit up ahead... The respite will be short-lived, as the steepest part of the climb is right in front of you. But don't forget to take a look in the direction of Europe's highest wind farm before you start the final switchbacks. At the summit, the lake marks the border between the cantons of Valais and Ticino.
