MOOSALP

Sunday, May 17, 2026

Moosalp is a pass well worth the detour! When you leave Stalden, the road takes you back and forth along winding contours to the village of Törbel at the halfway point. Take your time to savor the breathtaking views over the plain and the typical wooden houses with flower-filled balconies and slate roofs. Gradually, the larch trees become denser, and you gain height until you reach the highest point at 2045 meters. A well-deserved break awaits you in this breathtaking alpine setting.

For the more sporty, it's possible to cycle to the start of Stalden from the plain and town of Visp: approx. 10km and 130m ascent.

Altitude

Vertical rise

The roads from the Stalden exit to the Moosalp summit are reserved exclusively for cyclists.

Access to the starting point:

  • This year, there will be only one parking lot available near the starting line, and spaces will be very limited. This is the parking lot atthe Ackersand soccer field in Stalden. We therefore recommend that you ride your bike from Visp to Stalden, using the 7-kilometer ride from the train station as a warm-up. The route Visp-Zermatte Bike No. 150 will guide you to us (one section is gravel).

  • Organize your SBB trip here.
