Mauvoisin. The most imposing structure in the Val de Bagnes awaits you on the itinerary for this final Ride the Alps event of the 2026 season. From Le Châble to the foot of the dam, the route will cover 17.7 km (11.5 km of which are closed to motorized traffic) and 1,050m of elevation gain await you.
As you make your way up, you’ll be treated to views of the iconic peaks of the Val de Bagnes, as well as the first hints of fall colors blooming on the spiky branches of the larch trees. At the summit, Lake Mauvoisin and the trio of Mont Rogneux, Rosablanche, and Grand Combin await you. In short, this final “Ride the Alps” event of the season is definitely worth the trip.
* Want to ride your bike directly from La Plaine to join us? That’s great! However, we strongly recommend taking the train between Martigny and Le Châble to avoid the international highway leading to the Great St. Bernard Pass (or the Col des Planches, so you’ll be nicely warmed up by the time you reach the starting line 😅).
Partner offers
Sign up for Ride the Alps offers you plenty of benefits once again. For example—just like at previous climbs this year—our title sponsor, Alpiq, is treating you to coffee at the start and giving you a CHF 5.- voucher to use at participating cafés and restaurants along the route:
Hôtel de la Vallée (Lourtier)
- Le Mazot Restaurant (Fionnay)
- Grand-Combin Hotel & Restaurant (Fionnay)
- Café de la Promenade (Bonatchiesse)
- Auberge de Mauvoisin (at the finish line)
In addition, upon presenting your wristband, you’ll be able to receive technical assistance (provided by Happy Sport) at the Welcome Village. Finally, “officially” registering for our event also allows us to provide appropriate medical assistance and first aid.
Taking part in Ride the Alps Val de Bagnes also means enjoying a fantastic package deal with Bagnes, Capital of Raclette. Each participant will receive two tokens for a raclette upon presentation of their wristband.
In short, a full day with yet another cowgirl rodeo starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Probé Arena (Le Châble) and the Dance from 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
