NUFENEN

In the valley of Conches, this ascent allows you to reach the highest pass entirely in Switzerland, culminating at 2478m of altitude, and to discover its breathtaking view.

As soon as you leave the village of Ulrichen, you won't have to wait long before you encounter the first difficulties of the day. Nevertheless, once you have passed the first series of hairpin bends, you will be able to catch your breath at a well-deserved flat spot. It is also at this moment that you will be able to guess for the first time the summit, all up there... The respite will be of short duration since the steepest part of the ascent is right in front of you. But don't forget to take a look in the direction of the highest wind farm in Europe before you start the last few switchbacks. At the top, the lake marks the border between the cantons of Valais and Ticino.

Opening of the Welcome Village at 09h30 am

Road closed from 10 am : The roads are closed from the village exit of Ulrichen to Cioss Prato on the Ticino side.

• By public transport :
  

  Ulrichen train station is located in the immediate vicinity of the Welcome Village. Travelling by public transport and/or bicycle is recommended.
  Take advantage of special tickets to reach Ulrichen at the following times and reserve a place for your bike:

  • Saturday arrival times: between 5 p.m. and the end of service at 10:30 p.m
  • Sunday arrival times: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m
    
    Train schedule

• By bike : 
  You can reach the Welcome Village by bike from Brig (796d+, 38km) or via the Furka from Andermatt (1000d+, 43km) to extend the adventure! Travelling by train saves an average of 20kg of CO2 and 10L of fuel!
  
  
• By car : 
  The runway of the airfield will be specially converted into a car park for the occasion and is located near the Welcome Village.
